Extol es una banda de metal progresivo de Oslo, Noruega que formó en 1993. Mortification es unabanda australiana del Metal cristiano formada en 1990 a partir del grupo Lightforce, formada en los años 80. A finales de los años ochenta, el bajista Steve Rowe tocaba en la banda de metal clásico australiana (Lightforce), con unéxito algo grande en su patria. Alrededor de 1990 la banda se especializó en el metal pesado, pero Steve todavía deseaba tocar una música más pesada con un mensaje cristiano, así se estableció un grupo con los integrantes Steve Rowe como bajista y vocalista, Jayshon Sherlock como baterista y Cameron Hall como guitarrista. Lanzaron un demo en 1990 llamado “Break the Curse” bajo nombre de Lightforce, donde Steve dirigió las voces. Con este lanzamiento, la banda cambió musicalmente hacia un metal con un toque de Death Metal. Steve sentía que la nueva dirección de la banda también requería de un nuevo nombre, así que la banda cambió su nombre a Mortification. “Break The Curse” fue remezclado y re-lanzado en 1994 por Nuclear Blast Records con un bonus track llamado "Butchered Mutilation".

Para comenzar con pie derecho aqui les pondre la discografia de una de mis bandas favoritas, Stryper. Se destacaron del resto por el contenido cristiano en sus letras, subcategoría que se conoce como "Christian Rock" (Rock Cristiano) o White Metal" (Metal Blanco)", y a la que también pertenecerían con el tiempo cientos de bandas como Whitecross y Narnia. A pesar de esta postura, Stryper se hizo un lugar más que destacable entre el Hard Rock de la época. Su imagen se caracterizaba por los colores negro y amarillo, utilizados tanto en la vestimenta como en los escenarios de sus conciertos.
